What will it cost to raise my home in order to have a new foundation poured?

The cost to raise your home and pour a new foundation varies on the job and location of the property. We’ll go over all of the associated costs with you before any work begins to make sure you know what to expect.

What is the process used to replace a basement in an existing home?

The process to pour a new foundation involves:

  • Removing the house and raising it from the existing foundation, safely blocking it into position.
  • The old foundation is removed and recycled.
  • The new foundation is poured and, once ready, the house is lowered back on to it.
  • A new concrete floor is poured.
  • Waterproofing and/or weeping tiles are installed, and the area around the foundation is backfilled.

What are the advantages to having a poured concrete foundation?

Poured concrete foundations offer a number of advantages over block foundations, such as:

  • Typically a poured concrete foundation can be constructed quickly, thus saving valuable time and money.
  • They are usually 6” to 10” thick and joint-free, producing stronger, more durable and drier foundation walls, critical for basements.
  • They can be used to obtain a more flexible floor plan design.
  • Poured foundation walls can be constructed year-round.
  • A poured concrete foundation will provide you with a lasting pillar of strength for your home.
